Camilla Edwards grew up in Connecticut before attending the University of Florida (go gators!) where she earned her bachelors degree in Materials Science and Engineering. After graduation, she moved to Ohio where she worked as a process engineer for Procter and Gamble before coming to the University of Maryland to begin her PhD in Bioengineering, studying vaccine development and delivery.

Camilla has a strong background in long-distance running, qualifying for the Boston Marathon in 2018. She originally started CrossFit as a way to cross train for endurance running with the added bonus of community, but quickly fell in love with the variety and challenge of new movements. Camilla was motivated to coach because she firmly believes that CrossFit rewards hard work and dedication. She does not consider herself a “natural” athlete and wants to help other people see that they can achieve their fitness goals regardless of their background or starting point. Her favorite CrossFit movements are anything on a machine and GHD sit-ups.

Camilla is a strong proponent of women in STEM and all things science. When not at the gym, she loves being outside, biking, cooking and visiting her family in Florida.
